Communications

Building the Catholic community of western Kentucky

The Office of Communications serves the diocese by keeping the faithful informed about issues surrounding our local Church and the Catholic Church around the world.

We do this through a variety of means:

The Western Kentucky Catholic – the primary publication of the Office of Communications – is a newspaper that is published 10 times per year and delivered to all households registered in the Diocese of Owensboro.

Across the Diocese is a video conversation series with Bishop William F. Medley. These video conversations include various topics of interest, information concerning upcoming events, and introductions to various ministries and offices within the Diocese of Owensboro.

The Office of Communications also manages social media outreach for the Diocese of Owensboro, which includes FacebookInstagram and Twitter.

Media Relations

The Office of Communications is responsible for all external communications on behalf of the Diocese of Owensboro. The office serves as the primary media contact and distributes press releases for the diocese and the bishop. Bishop William F. Medley is the official spokesperson for the diocese and all requests to speak to him should come through this office. This office also provides public relations and crisis management assistance to diocesan parishes, offices and schools.

All media inquiries should be directed to:
