Our Church has been rocked by the horrid sin of the abuse of children by some who represent Christ on earth. Sometimes things are so breathtakingly awful, there is nothing to do but lament. Our Jewish forebears understood this. When we lament, we bring our brokenness, our desperate need to God with the expectation that God will hear and respond. Please join Bishop William F. Medley in offering lamentation to God and asking for God’s wisdom, guidance, and intervention in repairing what is broken and keeping safe the most vulnerable among us. Bishop Medley will be presiding at a Prayer of Lament and Reparation at St. Stephen Cathedral at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, February 5, 2019, the memorial of St. Agatha, patron saint of sexual abuse victims. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.
