Marriage Retreats

Following Pope Francis’ vision in Amoris Laetitia (The Joy of Love: One Love in the Family), marriage enrichment is a major component of the Office of Marriage & Family Life. We have two additional marriage retreats being offered in the diocese in 2018 during the “Year of Encounter.”

“The Formula for a Successful Marriage” day of recollection at the Passionist Monastery (near Whitesville, KY) is Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018, from 8am-3:00pm.  The retreat director for the day is Fr. Lou Caporiccio, from the Fathers of Mercy. Click here for more information and registration, or contact Christie Swanson, Passionist Monastery Retreat House Administrator, at 270-302-8023.

The Mount St. Joseph Conference and Retreat Center (Maple Mount, KY) is also hosting a marriage retreat Oct. 26-28, 2018. The theme is ”Falling in LOVE, Staying in LOVE AND Finding God in it all.” The retreat will be led by Catholic authors and retreat masters, M. Bridget Brennan and Jerome L. Shen, and will focus on integrating marriage with the spiritual exercises of St. Ignatius. Click here to register. Contact Sr. Mary Matthias Ward at 270-229-4103 for more information.

The word Retrouvaille (pronounced re-tro-vi with a long i.) is a French word meaning rediscovery. The program offers tools needed to rediscover a loving marriage relationship. Thousands of couples headed for cold, unloving relationships or divorce have successfully overcome their marriage problems by attending the program.
