“Fellowship on a page”
Why create such a collection? After all, the Church holds two thousand years of luminous theology, and most of the women here would never claim to be theologians. But there is something uniquely encouraging about reading the words of another woman, some just an hour or two down the road; another a dear friend in my own parish. There’s kinship with women who’ve felt the Spirit stir during Mass, swaying to ancient hymns with a sleepy babe. Solidarity with those who’ve prayed the Rosary over laundry, asking Mary to tend both stains and soul. And friendship with those who know the quiet strength of being Catholic in western Kentucky, where pews creak with memory and fields echo the Gospel.
