The Diocese of Owensboro is pleased to have Most Reverend Anthony Basil Taylor, Bishop of the Diocese of Little Rock, Arkansas, as our keynote speaker at VOCARE this year.

Bishop Anthony Basil Taylor was born in Ft. Worth, TX and raised in Ponca City, OK.  He studied for the priesthood at St. Meinrad Seminary in Indiana and at the Gregorian University in Rome.  Later he earned a PhD in Biblical Theology from Fordham University in New York.  He served as a priest in Oklahoma for 28 years, much of it in Hispanic ministry, and became the founding pastor of St. Monica Parish in Edmond, OK.  Bishop Taylor has extensive involvement with the parish of Santiago Atitlán, Guatemala, most recently promoting the cause of canonization of Blessed Stanley Rother, an Oklahoman priest who was martyred there in 1981.  In 2008 he became the bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Little Rock, which encompasses 128 parishes and missions throughout the state of Arkansas.
