Global Leadership Summit

We are thrilled to announce that the Diocese of Owensboro, Kentucky Wesleyan College, and Brescia University are coming together to host the Global Leadership Summit this summer. Taking place at the Jack Wells Center on Thursday and Friday, August 8-9, 2024, this collaboration aims to create an exceptional opportunity for leadership training in our region, fostering growth and learning.

Founded by Willow Creek Church in Barrington, IL, the Global Leadership Summit (GLS) is an innovative and powerful leadership training event that will enrich one’s life and career. Celebrating its 30th year, GLS is the largest leadership event to date, featuring a unique blend of 15+ world-class faculty recognized globally, including:

• Craig Groeschel — Founder and Senior Pastor, Life.Church
• Amy C. Edmondson — Novartis Professor of Leadership and Management, Harvard Business School
• Marcus Buckingham — Founder of the Strengths Revolution
• Carey Lohrenz — First Female F-14 Tomcat Fighter Pilot in the U.S. Navy
• Mike Krzyzewski (“Coach K”) — Head Men’s Basketball Coach, Duke University (1980 – 2022)
• Joni Eareckson Tada — Founder and CEO, Joni and Friends; Disability Advocate

Reflecting on last year’s Summit, Danny May, Director of the Office of Marriage, and Family Life for the Diocese of Owensboro, shared “I enjoyed GLS very much and took a lot of notes from several of the presenters who I found interesting, encouraging, and inspiring. I’ve taken those notes back out and re-read them. I also watched a GLS mini sessions they offer in between the large summit. I would encourage anyone on any level of leadership to attend GLS, especially in church leadership. Educators, students, first responders, nurses, and military personnel can attend for just $99, regardless of the registration date.
