Nominations Open
5/14/2026 – Catholic Charities is pleased to announce are accepting nominees for the Providing Help, Creating Hope Award; deadline July 10, 2026.
This prestigious award seeks to shed light on quiet heroes among us, those who transcend beyond the walls of the church to transform the lives of our neighbors.
We are seeking to recognize the top nine nominees, to represent the nine areas (deaneries) of Western Kentucky that make up our diocese. They must be a volunteer who embodies the mission of Catholic Charities, performing charitable actions that best symbolize “faith in action.” Through volunteering, they give of their time, skills, and energy to benefit others or contribute to a cause, without financial compensation. One of these nominees will be selected for the Providing Help, Creating Hope Award.
Final award recipient will be announced the evening of Sunday, July 26, 2026, at the Catholic Charities Gala at the Owensboro Convention Center.

People who reside within Western Kentucky are eligible, regardless of their religious preference or where their charitable assistance occurred.

People of Hope- A dress for Less Gala Coinciding with a landmark event for our region: the arrival of the CCUSA People of Hope Museum. Sunday, July 26th, 5PM cocktail hour and an opportunity to tour the Museum of Hope as you walk in at the front plaza of the Convention Center. Meal and presentations begin at 6PM, acknowledgments and awards to follow.
