Providing Help, Creating Hope Award

Nominations Open: The 2026 Providing Help, Creating Hope Award

5/14/2026 Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Owensboro is pleased to announce we are now accepting nominees for the Providing Help, Creating Hope Award; deadline June 30, 2026.

This prestigious award seeks to shed light on quiet heroes among us, those who transcend beyond the walls of the church to transform the lives of our neighbors.

We are seeking to recognize the top nine nominees, to represent the nine areas (deaneries) of Western Kentucky that make up our diocese. They must be a volunteer who embodies the mission of Catholic Charities, performing charitable actions that best symbolize “faith in action.” Through volunteering, they give of their time, skills, and energy to benefit others or contribute to a cause, without financial compensation. One that is dedicated to serving the societal needs of the community. One of these nominees will be selected for the Providing Help, Creating Hope Award.

Acknowledgment of nominees and the final award recipient will be announced the evening of Sunday, July 26, 2026, at the Catholic Charities Gala taking place at the Owensboro Convention Center as part of the celebration of the People of Hope Museum.

How to Nominate: Do you know someone who gives their all to help others? Help us tell their story. Nominations are open to the public and must be submitted by June 30, 2026.
