We have an incredible volunteer opportunity for you to spread hope and make a tangible difference in our community! By volunteering your time, you can help us launch a large-scale response to local food insecurity that will reach families throughout Western Kentucky.
Together, we are going to actively assemble 2,000 “Boxes of Hope” (meal-at-home food boxes) to be distributed to Audubon Area Head Start Programs across the region.
- Where: Inside the Owensboro Convention Center.
- The Goal: We have 9 total hours of volunteer shifts to pack 2,000 boxes. This means each team will need to pack roughly 222 boxes per hour (about 4 boxes per minute). It will be fast-paced, high-energy, and a lot of fun. We are seeking 8 volunteers at a time for 9 different one-hour shifts.
- Arrival: Please arrive 10 minutes early for your shift so we can quickly go over the assembly line process with you.

Are you interested in bringing a group?
We would love to host your Youth Group, corporate team, or family!
- Youth Groups: We recommend a ratio of 2 adults for every 6 youth.
- Large Groups: If you have more people than the 8 slots available pershift, bring them anyway! We will gladly utilize extra hands to pre-build boxes, restock the assembly lines, or stack finished kits.
See the fruits of your labor, join us in celebrating this massive community collaboration by coming back Tuesday, July 28th, the day will start at 10AM with speakers at 11:30AM. You will get to see the mountain of completed boxes and listen to our guest speakers discuss the ongoing needs in our community and how we are tackling them together.
Partnering this with Audubon Area Headstart- They are a comprehensive early childhood education and family support initiative serving children from birth through age five, as well as pregnant women and their families, across 16 counties in western Kentucky.
