The transition from teenager to independent young adult marks a crucial phase in Catholic parenting. Young people face unprecedented freedom, intellectual challenges, and life decisions while often experiencing their first extended separation from family faith support systems. The parent-child relationship fundamentally changes during these years. Rather than setting rules and expectations, parents now serve as advisors and supporters. On this page, we’ve gathered a collection of advice and insights from other parents within our faith community. Remember, we are all in this together, building our families of faith, one day at a time.
Advice
In this space we will collect advice from parents throughout our diocese. We will draw from the deep well of experience that we have in each of our communities. After each workshop, we will collect and discern which ones we should share with the larger community and we will add them here.
