National Natural Family Planning (NFP) awareness week is July 25-31. The theme is “to have, to hold, to honor.” The USCCB offers promotional resources for parishes and couples at https://www.usccb.org/topics/natural-family-planning/national-nfp-awareness-week.
The Diocese of Owensboro offers natural family planning resources to couples on our website. You can find instructors who can guide you through the process either via the Billings Ovulation Method, Creighton Method or Marquette Method.
The Rural Life Committee for the Diocese of Owensboro is holding their 18th annual Rural Life Celebration at the Owensboro Convention Center on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at 5 PM. The theme for this event is: “The Land, the People, the way of Life.” The evening includes dinner, a short program, and the recognition of the Lifetime Achievement Award winners.
This year we will celebrate the 2020 nominees due to the fact that COVID-19 made having this Mass impossible last year.
Nominees will receive a Sophia Award from Bishop Medley on Sunday, September 26th at 2:00 p.m. following Mass at Saint Stephen Cathedral. A reception will follow in the Fr. John Vaughan Community Center (undercroft).
Thank you for helping us to express our gratitude to those who have served faithfully in our parishes throughout the Diocese of Owensboro.
