Family Ministry Webinar with John Roberto!
September 17 & 24, 10:30-Noon Central Time
Re-envisioning Family Faith Formation with Today’s Families explores the world of today’s families and their unique life tasks and spiritual-religious needs. The family is the primary community where faith practices are nurtured and practiced. This two-part webinar presents the central role of families in faith transmission, and the practices that are most significant in forming faith in children and teens. The webinar presents approaches and strategies for forming faith at home (celebrating rituals and milestones, praying, serving, learning the Christian faith, reading the Bible); providing faith forming experiences at church—learning, worship, service; and connecting with families at home through digital media and methods. Special attention will be given to designing faith formation in the COVID-19 world using online and hybrid models, and the particular practices and approaches that will work with families during this time.
John Roberto has spent a lifetime working in Catholic faith formation—teaching, writing, researching, and consulting. He founded LifelongFaith Associates in 2006 to continue his work. He has worked with Vibrant Faith Ministries for the past decade. He was the founder of the Center for Ministry Development. His latest publications include Faith Formation with a New Generation, Families at the Center of Faith Formation, Seasons of Adult Faith Formation, Reimagining Faith Formation for the 21st Century, and Generations Together. He was the creator and project coordinator of the Generations of Faith Project, a five-year Lilly Endowment funded project (2001-2006) to develop intergenerational faith formation in Catholic parishes across the United States
